The April meeting will be a potluck meeting at the home of Jerry and Vicki Dudley, 6:30 pm on April 14. The program will look at resources available to us in the Rogue Valley. The Dudley’s address is 1217 Gardener Way. Take McAndrews Rd. to the top of the hill and continue left on Hillcrest. Keep going when the road narrows. You will go up a hill and back down to Gardener Way. Turn left, 1217 is the first house on the left.
This month we will have our first opportunity to educate the public about the hobby we love. We will have a display and Koi at Jackson County Expo. We will answer questions people have about the Koi and ponds in general. We will also have invitations to our Annual Free BBQ on May 12. Club members are encouraged to sign up to work at least one 2 hour session during the weekend. Sign up at the club meeting or volunteer by calling Ron or Linda Johnson, 245-9357. If you would like to assist Dan Merrill moving the Koi at either end of the weekend let him know at 601- 9718.
Our meeting this month is the 2nd Annual BBQ at In Thee Garden. In addition to great food we have scheduled an outstanding program on landscaping in and around your pond. Doug from Oregon Aquatics is the speaker. This is an evening you do not want to miss. The BBQ begins at 6:00.
June 9 is the date of our first pond visit for the season. We will hold our 6:30 potluck meeting at the home of Rusty and Laura Vaughan, 7930 Upper Applegate Rd. The Vaughan’s have a very large pond with lots of fish. They also swim in their pond. Come prepared if you would like to try it.
The Oregon Koi & Watergarden Society, the Koi club in Roseburg, is holding its 8th Annual Koi Show and celebrating the club’s 10th Anniversary on June 14-15. We have committed to helping with the Koi show. Discounted room rates are available at Sleep In when you tell them you are working with the Koi show. Check back for details.

Don’t miss this potluck meeting at the Johnson’s home. Ron and Linda live at 129 Arnold Lane in west Medford. You will enjoy their large shady lawn and beautiful flowers as well as their pond. This is the pond that Ron had to rebuild after the sides on the original one collapsed. Please bring your potluck dish, raffle items and lawn chairs.
